I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Knowing

One of the best ways to get to know Canada is to get on at train in Halifax and not get off until you get to Vancouver. If taking the train across Canada isn’t on your bucket list, it totally should be! Seeing the entire country, from Halifax to Vancouver, by train is an unforgettable experience like no other. You will go to sleep in one province and time zone and wake up in a completely different part of Canada. The Canadian train is a wonderful way to slow travel across Canada and enjoy the scenery, cities, and people along the way.

***

I think we all have favourite Bible verses. I have a number and one of them is today’s. The apostle writes this in 1 John 5:13: “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” Because our walk with Jesus is one of faith, from beginning to end, many go through times of doubt. The Lord knew that this would be the case, and at one point He tells the disciples that as blessed as they are to walk with Him in the flesh, hearing Him teach, seeing Him work miracles, be crucified, and rise again, even more blessed are those who don’t see, but believe. John the apostle understood this and gives the reason why he has written what he has – in his Gospel and in his epistles. He wants the followers of Jesus, in every generation, to know, without a doubt, that we have eternal life. Right now, and forever.

These have been words from the heart.
