And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:13 NIV
Glorified
If you want to see the glories of Canada, check out a website by an Aussie named Amanda, who calls herself the Boutique Adventurer. She says “Canada is known for its scenic splendor and ten uniquely different provinces. Sprinkled among these diverse regions you’ll find some incredible Canada landmarks. From modern structures to natural formations and historic buildings, the range is truly remarkable. Whether you’re looking for picturesque landmarks in Nova Scotia, natural phenomena in New Brunswick or popular points of interest in Ottawa, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.”

I have a friend who worked for the federal government for many years. I once asked him what was the most challenging part of his job and he said, “When parliament enacts new legislation but doesn’t grant the funds to get done what they have legislated. Unfunded mandates are really difficult.” The good news for followers of Jesus is that He never gives an unfunded mandate. Listen to what Jesus says in John 14:13: “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” It is important to note that the context of this promise is ministry – Jesus has just told Philip that those who genuinely follow Him will do even greater things than He. Then He gives this promise – that when we are serving Jesus, and we ask Him for all that is needed to accomplish His will, He will provide it. You can count on it – because doing so brings glory to God.
