Coming To Jerusalem
If you’re Jewish, and want to move to Israel, the Law of Return grants you automatic citizenship, making things much easier for you. But if you are not Jewish, you’ll need to get a work visa, student visa, or a partnership visa. These visas are more difficult and take more effort to get… and may require additional documents as well. The Israeli Ministry of Interior (Misrad Hapnim) website will be your best friend here. You can check the website for all of the options available for you to move to Israel from Canada.

Over the years, Wendy and I have taken many groups to Israel. We love introducing believers to the land of the Bible, taking them to walk where Jesus walked. They never read the Bible the same way again. The names of places and people come alive. The greatest moment is when we drive into Jerusalem. We make sure a rendition of the Holy City is on the bus’ speaker, and we sing that incredible song as the Mount of Olives and the Dome of the Rock come into view. For thousands of years, God’s people have made the pilgrimage to Jerusalem, the city that God’s people built to honour and worship Him. In John 12:12 we read, “The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.” This is the beginning of the Palm Sunday story. Jesus had been to Jerusalem before. But this time He was coming as the apex of His time here – the Cross looms before Him. For us.
