The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Hebrews 1:3 NIV
Exact Imprint
The footprints of family members gathered around a hearth fire thousands of years ago on the central coast of B.C. may be the oldest ever found in North America. The impressions left by the feet of two adults and a child in the soft clay of Calvert Island appear to be 13,200 years old, which would make them older than any others ever found on the continent, announced the Hakai Institute, a research organization that helped support the research.

It seems that everybody is intrigued when ancient imprints are found giving clear indication of the presence of dinosaurs or ancient people groups. It helps us understand a little bit more about what those ancients looked like. In describing Jesus, the author of the book of Hebrews uses this idea in describing the deity of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 1:3 says, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” The author of Hebrews could not have been any clearer in his depiction of Jesus as being fully God. Jesus is the exact representation of God’s being. When you see Him, you see God. The One who created the world and who sustains all things, came into the world as a tiny baby in a Bethlehem manger. Only because He is God, only because He was without sin, was he able to offer Himself as our substitute – He took upon Himself our sin and bore the punishment we deserve in order that God’s justice would be met. Jesus is fully God, and our Saviour.
