Words From the Heart for Wednesday, April 30, 2025

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Colossians 1:16-17 NIV

All Things Created

Canadian inventors have patented more than one million inventions. Some were funded by the National Research Council of Canada, which has been an important factor in innovation and technological advancement in the country. From AC radio tubes to zippers, these accomplishments are in the areas of sports, medicine and science, communications, entertainment, agriculture, manufacturing, and day-to-day necessities. If you are an inventor in Canada, there are a number of ways to find Canadian funding, innovation information, research money, grants, awards, and venture capital.

The Bible begins with creation. The first verse of the Bible tells us that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Hebrew word used there is Elohim which is an interesting word – it is a singular plural – it refers to one God but has a plural ending – im. Christians understand this to be describing the One God in three persons. The New Testament certainly understands Jesus to be the Creator mentioned in Genesis. In Colossians 1:16-17 it says, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Paul had no doubt that Jesus was the Creator. John would also mention this in John 1:3 when he writes, “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” The Jesus we follow is so far more than a good teacher, or prophet. He is fully God, with the power and authority to speak into being this incredible world. This is the Jesus we love and serve.

These have been words from the heart.
