Pray for Canada

Pray for Canada! We have seen that this simple act is enough for Christ to transform hearts, lives and circumstances. Join us in praying for our country in the following areas:

  • Our Government: Pray that God will guide our politicians and elections, and that the Spirit will be present in all local and national decisions that affect Canada.
  • Our Growing Communities: There are few churches to support our rapidly growing cities. Pray for more spiritual workers to bring discipleship to Canada’s diverse urban communities.
  • Our People: Canada welcomes immigrants of all backgrounds, and this gives us an unprecedented opportunity to share Jesus’ message. Pray that God will call Christians to reach out to their neighbours to share the Good News.

Prayer Request: Week of August 25, 2024

While in university in Cambodia, Sieng eagerly took discipleship training, learning how to reach out and bring others to Christ; how to encourage new leaders and multiply impact. When he became a teacher at a government school, he was eager to share with his students. But the director banned him from speaking of Jesus in the classroom. However, five students, curious to hear more, began to meet in his small home after classes. His group of five became many students, and with parents and others joining in, became a church!

Please pray for this new church as they grow and impact their community.

Prayer Request: Week of November 19, 2023

In a country hostile to Christianity, believers gather at one of their homes, cherishing the one Bible they share. Each member earnestly and diligently copies out verses from the Bible, using carbon paper to create an additional copy. They share those precious papers with one another, savouring every word.

Please pray for these believers who hunger and thirst for knowledge.

Prayer Request: Week of November 12, 2023

November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada, a tradition that goes back to 1919 when legislation was introduced in the House of Commons to establish a memorial day honouring those who have bravely fought and sacrificed for their country. On this day, we pause and reflect, and turn our thoughts and prayers to those who have served – and continue to serve – their country during times of war, conflict, and peace. In Deuteronomy 4:9b, we read, “…do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” (NIV). Reminding us that remembering the past is important for our future.

And so, we remember and pray.
