Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
1 Peter 1:21 NIV
From the Dead
Major causes of death in Canada are mostly related to non-communicable diseases including cancer and cardiovascular diseases, such as ischemic heart disease. However, the number of deaths and causes vary by province and territory, age group, and gender. One major health issue of concern that Canada shares with its neighbor to the south is the ongoing opioid crisis. Some provinces have been hit harder than others, with the death rate from opioid overdose in British Columbia more than double the national average.

Over the past three days we have been focusing on the impact of Jesus’ resurrection on our lives. When the Lord burst forth from the grave, everything changed. It was a miracle – no one but God could bring a dead person back from the dead. When we believe that Jesus was dead and is no longer, we have to believe that God was behind that miracle. Peter, whose life and ministry changed when the risen Jesus appeared to him, writes this in 1 Peter 1:21: “Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” It isn’t enough to believe in God. The Bible says that the devil believes in God, and trembles. It is only when we come to believe in God through faith in the resurrected Jesus that our hope really is in the One with the power to bring life to the dead. That’s what He does in our lives. The Bible is clear that we are dead in our transgressions and sin. But when we trust in the resurrected Jesus, His life becomes ours.
These have been words from the heart.
