By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.
1 Corinthians 6:14 NIV
Raised Up
According to the matadornetwork.com website, there are signs that you were born and raised in Canada. For example, if your definition of a Canadian is “not American” you were raised in Canada. If it’s a shock to see the cereal box in English only, you were raised in Canada. If you use the metric system – sort of, you were raised in Canada. If you grew up with every chocolate bar imaginable, you were raised in Canada. And if you measure distance in hours, you were raised in Canada.

Jesus was raised in Nazareth, but He was raised up in a tomb outside the ancient walls of Jerusalem. Because He was fully human, he was raised as any boy would have been in Nazareth in that day. Because He was fully divine, He was raised up by the power of God. The apostle Paul wrote about this in 1 Corinthians 6:14: “By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.” The Greek word used here for power is dunamis, from which we get the words dynamite and dynamic. God’s power is far more impactful than dynamite. The same power that created the world was at work in bringing Jesus back from the dead. In fact, the resurrection proved to be the death of death. Satan’s greatest victory – the death of Jesus – was turned on its head when Jesus rose from the dead, now unconquerable. And Paul says that we, who trust Jesus, will experience that same power when Jesus comes again to establish the fullness of His Kingdom. Trust Christ fully and His resurrection power is yours.
