Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Revelation 3:20 NIV
Knocking
Back in May 2023, Global News reported that a quiet Vancouver Island neighbourhood says it has been terrorized by a group of young people taking part in the TikTok door-knock challenge. Picture 2, PictureThis involves banging on someone’s door, using hands or feet, and then running away without getting caught — and documenting the ordeal on the social media platform. “It got to the point where it was frightening,” a neighbour told Global News. “They wanted to be anonymous for fear of being targeted again.”

Over the past week, since Resurrection Day, we have been looking at the impact of the resurrection on your life, on our world, and on all of history. Jesus is alive, and He is at work in your life and in this world that needs Him so much. In John’s Revelation, the apostle is given a look into the future. In the first three chapters he is given a look into how God views seven of the churches in modern day Turkey. These are churches birthed in the first move of the Holy Spirit. But one lost its first love, one had become lukewarm, one looks good on the outside but was dead on the inside. We see something of these churches in churches here in Canada today. Too many churches limp along, doing church, but with no sense of the manifest presence of the living Jesus in their midst. But it is never too late. Jesus is alive, and so can your church be. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”
These have been words from the heart.
