Teach me your way, Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

Psalm 86:11 NIV

Undivided Heart

In his online blog, Richard Hogan writes: “In the realm of international relations, Canada has often charted its own course, distinct from its southern neighbor. This independent stance is evident in Canada’s commitment to peacekeeping, multilateralism, and human rights. Canadians have not hesitated to voice their values and priorities, even when they diverge from those of the USA. This assertiveness is a testament to Canada’s robust democratic principles and its unwavering commitment to sovereignty. Canada’s foreign policy is characterized by a strong emphasis on diplomacy and international cooperation.”

Growing in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus takes a work of God in both our mind and our heart. Through God’s Word, we will learn about Him, and as we yield our hearts to Him, He does His refining work in us, slowly moulding us into the likeness of Jesus. King David understood this and writes, in Psalm 86:11, “Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” King David asks that God would mould both his mind and his heart. We should ask the Lord to do the same for us. As we take time daily to read God’s Word, we learn about His nature and His faithfulness. As we pray, and yield our will to God’s will, we experience Him working in our heart. He takes what we learn in His Word and applies it to our hearts, making us more and more like Jesus. We also learn to rely on His faithful protection and care. Pray, as David did, that God would give us an undivided heart.

These have been words from the heart.
